Dimitris Koukounis received the Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering from the University of Bristol, Uk in 2011. Dimitris currently is a Ph.D. student at the University of Cyprus, working under the supervision of Dr. Theocharis Theocharides.
Dimitris’ final year project during his Meng degree was about Segmentation-driven Registration of human retinal images. The purpose of the project was to develop an algorithm to help physicians to detect changes that occur in the blood vasculature due to various diseases.
Currently, he is a researcher at KIOS Research Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks and a member of Embedded & Application Specific Systems-on-Chip Laboratory (EASoC).
