Prof. Christos-Savvas Bouganis bio

Prof. Christos-Savvas Bouganis received the M.Eng degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics from University of Patras Greece in 1998, the MSc degree in Communications and Signal Processing in 1999 and the Ph.D. degree in 2004 both from Imperial College London. He joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as academic faculty in 2007. He is currently a Senior Lecturer within Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is also the Director of the MSc in Analogue and Digital Integrated Circuit Design. His research includes the theory and practice of reconfigurable computing and design automation, mainly targeting digital signal processing algorithms. His work is currently focused on Computer Vision and Image Processing, Machine Learning, Markov Chain Monte Carlo Systems, and computing with unreliable hardware. He currently serves on the program committees of many international conferences, including FCCM, FPL, FPT, DATE, SPPRA, and VLSI-SoC and is an editorial board member of IET Computers and Digital Techniques and Journal of Systems Architecture.

Prof. Theocharis Theocharides bio

Prof. Theocharis Theocharides holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (2006). He is currently an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at the University of Cyprus. His research focuses on the broad area of intelligent embedded systems design, with emphasis on domain-specific architectures, evolvable and reconfigurable hardware, and design of reliable and low power embedded and application specific processors and circuits. He directs the Embedded and Application-Specific System-on-Chip Lab at the KIOS Research Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks, which runs several projects related to embedded, mobile and reconfigurable systems, embedded computer vision, embedded pattern recognition and classification architectures, and intelligent system-level monitoring and dynamic reconfiguration for performance, energy and reliability of Systems-on-Chip. He has authored/co-authored more than 80 papers in internationally acclaimed scientific journals and conferences. He is a senior member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society, an ACM Member, and a member of the HiPEAC Network of Excellence. Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of the ACM Journal on Emerging Technologies in Computing Systems, IEEE Design and Test magazine, and on several Organizational and Technical Program Committee boards of various IEEE/ACM Conferences. He has also served as the Workshops and Tutorials co-chair in 2015.
